Over the past four years, the Gulfport Senior Center Foundation has raised more than $500,000 toward the renovation and expansion of the Senior Center — but the Foundation’s impact can be measured in far more than dollars. Those resources are being put to work creating safer, more comfortable, more engaging spaces and expanding the experiences available to older adults throughout Gulfport.

In December 2026, the Foundation funded a major upgrade to the existing Senior Center, including new flooring throughout, new ceiling fans, and upgraded lighting —improvements that directly enhance the comfort, safety, and everyday experience of the people who use the Center.

The dining hall will also receive a new 98-inch wall display and interactive smart board, transforming the space into an even greater community resource. The technology will support livestreamed performances, educational programs, health and wellness seminars, presentations, and special events—bringing experiences directly to seniors who may otherwise face barriers related to mobility, ticket costs, transportation, or comfort.

These aren’t simply improvements to a building. They are investments in real people and real lives. Each project reflects the Foundation’s commitment to helping Gulfport’s older adults remain active, connected, informed, independent, and deeply engaged in the community they call home.
